Useful observations

What are you seeing, hearing, or measuring?

These symptoms help describe a request; they do not identify the failed part.

01

Temperature change

The cooler is warmer than expected, drifting, or not pulling down after the door has been closed.

02

Recurring ice

Ice appears on visible surfaces, airflow seems restricted, or buildup returns after thawing.

03

Water or condensation

Water collects inside or outside the enclosure, or condensation is unusual for the space.

04

Operating changes

The unit runs continuously, cycles differently, stops, alarms, or makes a new sound.

Prepare the request

Gather details without opening the equipment.

  • Equipment type and location within the business.
  • Displayed or measured temperature, where it was measured, and the time.
  • When the issue started and whether it is constant, intermittent, or recurring.
  • Visible ice, water, damaged seals, alarms, or unusual sounds.
  • Model and serial information only if safely accessible.
  • Onsite contact and preferred access window.

Do not remove electrical covers, test live circuits, add refrigerant, bypass controls, or dismantle the refrigeration system.

Decision support

Diagnosis comes before repair or replacement.

A service conversation may consider the diagnosed fault, equipment age and condition, repair history, parts availability, refrigerant requirements, downtime risk, and the business’s replacement plans. A recurring symptom does not prove that the same component failed again.

Questions

Commercial refrigeration request FAQs.

Can a warm reading identify the failed part?

No. A temperature reading describes the condition but does not establish the cause. Airflow, doors, controls, defrost behavior, load, and refrigeration components may need onsite evaluation.

Should I remove ice from the coil?

Do not chip or pry ice from coils or dismantle equipment. Record where ice is visible and whether it returns, then share that information with an appropriate professional.

Does submitting a request guarantee service?

No. With your consent, a request may be shared with selected independent local providers. Coverage, availability, and scheduling are not guaranteed.
