Urgent requests · Seattle

Product at risk? Document it safely and flag the request.

When a walk-in, freezer, or ice machine fails during service, the first priorities are people, product, and clear information. You can mark a request as product-at-risk. That label describes your situation; it does not promise same-day dispatch, after-hours service, or any response time.

First minutes

Safe steps while you wait.

  • Follow the business’s food-safety and incident procedures.
  • Limit door opening on the affected cooler or freezer.
  • Record the time, the equipment display, and a separate food-temperature reading.
  • Photograph visible ice, water, alarms, or damage.
  • Move product only under approved procedures and applicable health guidance.
  • Call the number on the equipment or your service contract first if you have one.

Do not attempt

Hazards that make an outage worse.

  • Do not open energized electrical panels or reset breakers repeatedly.
  • Do not add, vent, or handle refrigerant.
  • Do not chip ice from coils or use sharp tools inside the system.
  • Do not bypass safety controls to keep a compressor running.
